Who we are Who we are

ES Elena Guerra Cyeza is a private secondary school founded and managed by the Oblate Sisters of the Holy Spirit, a religious congregation devoted to education, social development, and humanitarian service, particularly in underserved communities.

Our story began in 1973, when the school was established as a filial institution with just three classrooms and 36 students. At the time, its mission was simple yet powerful: to provide basic education and instill strong moral and Christian values in children who had limited access to learning opportunities.

In 1997, ES Elena Guerra Cyeza officially became a secondary school, expanding its academic programs in alignment with Rwanda’s national education system. Since then, the school has grown significantly in both enrollment and infrastructure, while remaining deeply committed to its founding mission.

Today, ES Elena Guerra Cyeza continues to play a vital role in the Cyeza community by offering accessible, quality education that empowers young people to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Guided by faith and a spirit of service, we remain dedicated to shaping future generations who will contribute positively to society.
